Kyson Is Home

We had to stay in the hospital for 2 nights to monitor Kyson. Kobe was so excited to see meet him. I was really nervous about how Kobe would take to Kyson, but he is really good about it. Kobe loves to give Kyson kisses on the head and lay next to him. So far so good. We have had many visitors come and bring us meals and well wishes. Thanks so much we really appreciate it.

Things I Want To Remember:
I forgot how much I love my sleep. Kyson wakes up around 1:30 and every 2 hours thru the night. I hope he starts sleeping thru the night. He just wants to eat and eat and eat. Grandma Goodwin took off work and stayed and helped us adjust (Thanks mom, I love you and I don't know what I would have done without your help).

Welcome Kyson Jared Moss

Kyson Jared Moss was born on May 4, 2010 at 11:34 PM at the Beaver Valley Hospital by Dr. Lance Smith. He weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz and was 19 inches long. I had been patiently waiting for this day to arrive. I thought with your second child you went earlier than your due date and here I was thinking I was going to go over my due date. I had been dilated to a 2 for about 3 weeks now and with each Dr's apt there was little progress. At 2 am I started to have some contractions, but nothing major. I had an apt with Dr. Oakden and he told me that I was now dilated to a 5. I told him how I was having contractions, but they were about 20 minutes apart. The Moss Family was hoping the baby would be here by now, because Chelsey and Kenton had State Softball. I told Dr. Oakden my concerns and he told me that I really could go in the next 24-48 hrs and if I went into the ER they wouldn't send me home. Jared took me out to lunch and I started having stronger contractions, I told him I didn't want his mom missing the baby's birth and so we decided that we would go to the hospital in the morning if I hadn't had the baby by then. I then went and picked up Kobe from DyAnn's and chatted with her, Aunt Bonnie, and Mindy. I told them I was having contractions, but nothing major. Things really kicked into gear once I got home, and at 9:00 PM I told Jared I better go to the hospital. Kenton and DyAnn came up and DyAnn painted my toenails for me (yes, I couldn't leave without my toenails painted) and then Jared gave me a blessing. I needed to go to the hospital early, because I needed to get an antibiotic for Group B Strep. We arrived at the hospital at 10:10 PM and they put me on the Fetal Monitor. I was getting a little frustrated, because I was having really strong contractions and I still didn't have an IV in. It was 10:56 PM and Jared had just texted his mom saying it was going to be a long night, when I had a really strong contraction and my water broke. It scared me to death and then the craziness started. I told Jared to go get the nurse and call my mom. The contractions became very, very, painful and Dr. Lance Smith came in to check me. I asked him when was I going to get the epidural and he told me I was going to have to do it old school. Needless to say I was not happy about that, I wanted an epidural. Good thing Kyson decided to come quickly. He was delivered at 11:34 PM as cute as a button. He has his dad's nose, but I think he has a little more Goodwin in him than Kobe. Dr. Lance measured his feet, because they were so long. They were 3 inches long!I hope he fills into them.It will be fun to see who he looks like when he develops a little more.

Some Things I Want To Remember:
Due Date: May 4, 2010. Kyson was born on his due date.
How we learned we were expecting you: Jared and I had went to San Diego to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. I had suspected I was pregnant, but we went Parasailing and the boat made me overly sick. I also remember I was accidentally given an alcoholic Margarita and with the first sip it made me sick.
Our reactions: We were excited. We really didn't know what to think. I was nervous to tell the Moss Family, because we were suppose to go on a cruise with the fam and we now wouldn't be able to go.
How we spread the news: We went trick or treating. Kobe was dressed as Spiderman and gave them a card that announced we were expecting.
How we prepared the nursery: Outdoor theme. Decorated with moose, fish, and shorthair dogs.
Special cravings: I was so sick the first 12 weeks. I can remember just laying toys on the floor for Kobe and laying on the couch. I craved Pepsi and Almond Snicker Bars.
Current Events:BP oil rig had exploded leaking millions of gallons of oil in the Pacific Ocean.
President and other political leaders: President was Barack Obama and Governor Herbert had replace Governor Huntsman who had taken a job in China.
Church Leaders: President Thomas S. Monson, First Counselor Henry B. Eyring and 2nd Counselor was Dieter F. Uchdorf. Bishop Jay Bunker, First Counselor Robert Adams, and Second Counselor Chris Smith. Relief Society President was Janice Myers.
